It’s 1957 and Cathy Fallon is home in Iowa, but not for long. Cathy doesn’t want what most 23-year old women want – a husband. She doesn’t care that her aunts worry that she will become an old maid. She knows what she wants.
She wants to spend her days surrounded by great art. She already has an education. She earned a Masters in Fine Arts from Radcliffe (which was, by-the-by, the happy hunting ground for Harvard educated husbands). Now she is starting a career, working in California with the eclectic art collection amassed by the multi-millionaire William Randolph Hearst. A new life doing what she loves beckons. What could possibly happen on her way to Becoming Cathy?
Becoming Cathy eBook Jim Malcolm
Cathy is someone I could have known growing up. She is believable and bright. Her attitudes about life were reflective of the social mores I remember post World War II. A fun read.Product details

Becoming Cathy eBook Jim Malcolm Reviews
With a fountain pen dipped in ink, Jim Malcolm's latest novella combining elements of Raymond Chandler,
Rod Serling and Nathaniel West brings old Hollywood to life.- and death.
A well-written and engrossing tale of murder and growing up. Set in Iowa and California. Really enjoyed it and I recommend it.
This is a great yarn -- a period piece integrated with Hollywood legends and William Randolph Hearst. It is easy reading that should appeal to a broad audience of mystery readers, art buffs, old Hollywood enthusiasts, and hopeless romantics.
Cathy is someone I could have known growing up. She is believable and bright. Her attitudes about life were reflective of the social mores I remember post World War II. A fun read.
